If we want transparent elections, that work has to start from the ground up—beginning with local races. It’s time for candidates to be clear about who they are. Slate up with the party you belong to and be honest on the ballot, so voters know exactly where everyone stands when they step into the voting booth.

Beware of anyone offering simple answers to complex questions. The Islamification of Texas is much bigger than Texas itself. Unfortunately, we are in a position where we are forced to pick up the pieces of a federal failure on the immigration front.

You cannot trust the people we work with to not grow government. That’s just reality.
We need to pay attention to what’s happened in other states and make sure Texas doesn’t follow the same path. If property tax values are capped and families are expected to live within limits, but government continues to grow anyway, that’s a recipe for disaster.

Great conversation with Judge Alan Wheeler on bail reform and public safety.
Bail reform was intended to deny bail to the most violent offenders, those who pose a serious flight risk and an ongoing threat to public safety. That purpose matters. Justice requires both accountability and protection for our communities.
When the District Attorney’s office has its hands tied, it’s a sign that the system deserves a deeper, more honest look.
